Jens Hansen passed away at his home, 519 Oak street, this morning at 9:15 o'clock, after an illness of a few weeks' duration. Deceased was born in Denmark in 1843, and moved to America in the year 1872 and resided in the east four years after he came to America. He removed to Clinton in 1876, and has lived in this city ever since. He was justice of the peace for six years, and alderman for two years.

He is survived by his wife and two sons, John and Peter.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at two o'clock at the late home. Rev. Gottke will officiate. Interment will be in Springdale cemetery.
