Martin Sheridan passed away at his home, 811 Sunnyside avenue Sunday morning at one o'clock after an illness of a few weeks' duration. Death was caused by complication of diseases.
He was born in County Mayo, Ireland, July 27th, 1847, moving to this country when a small child. He had been in the employ of the C. & N. W. for the past 30 years, while for the past five years he has been flagman at the Third and Second street crossings. Mr. Sheridan was married in Clinton forty years ago and was a member of Horse Shoe camp No. 702, M.W.A.
Surviving him are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. R. G. Barrett, of Thomson, Illinois; three sons, James C., Edward I., and John P., all of this city; five grandchildren in Clinton and one grandchild in Thompson, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at nine o'clock at St. Mary's church. Very Rev. E. J. McLaughlin will officiate. Interment will be in St. Mary's cemetery.
