Almond W. Champlin an old resident of Clinton, passed away this morning at Agatha hospital after an illness of about six months.

Mr. Champlin's death occurred at 9:30 o'clock this morning. On August 28th, he fell and broke his leg, and since then had been receiving treatment at the hospital.

The deceased was 84 years of age on the 1st of January, and was born in Susquehanna, Pa. He had made his home in Clinton for 33 years, and was associated with his sons, the Champlin Brothers, for many years in the livery business. He was a horse buyer and salesman. During the past eight years he had been retired from active business.

Surviving Mr. Champlin are his two sons, O. R. and O. A. Champlin, and a daughter, Miss Fronia Champlin.

Many friends won during his long business career and residence in Clinton heard of the aged man's death today with sincere sorrow.

The funeral will be held at 2:30 Friday afternoon from the O. A. Champlin residence at Park and Eighth streets, Lyons.
