A telegram was received Tuesday evening announcing the death of Mrs. A. P. Hosford, at her home in Oshkosh, Wis., at 5:30 Tuesday afternoon. The death was very sudden. Many of the friends of the Hosford family in the city were not aware of her illness. It is not know what the cause of death was. Word was received that Mrs. Hosford was indisposed last Wednesday. Letters received Monday and Tuesday brought the news that she was much better. A telegram received Tuesday morning stated that she was dying. Mrs. C. M. Young, sister of the deceased left in the afternoon for Oshkosh but did not arrive before the death.
Deceased was born in Canton, Lawrence county, New York. Her maiden name was Lucy M. Bonney. She was born in St. Lawrence Co., N. Y., and was married to Mr. Hosford may 10, 1864. She had one daughter. Mr. Hosford was at one time president of the Clinton Lumber Co. and a well known citizen of Clinton. The news of her death will come as a shock to the many friends of the deceased in Clinton, who had no knowledge of her illness. No word as to the funeral arrangement has as yet been received.
