The death of Conductor John Kane occurred at 10 o'clock Saturday night at his home at 747 Stockholm street after an illness of five weeks of pneumonia. He was about 36 years of age and is survived by his widow and five children, the oldest of whom is 12 years of age. The deceased had been in the employ of the North Western about 16 years, most of the time as conductor and was considered one of the best freight and work trainmen on the Iowa division. He was a member of division No. 33, O. R. C., and was hight esteemed by his friends and acquaintances.
The funeral will be held this morning at 9 o'clock, with services at St. Mary's church and interment at St. Mary's cemetery. The O. R. C. will have charge of the funeral and services at the grave.
