Mark Allen Vilmont, 53 of Clinton, Iowa passed away at home on Thursday, August 9, 2018. Funeral Services will occur at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 17, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel, cremation rites will be accorded following the Funeral Service. A visitation takes place from 4 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, August 16, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). An additional visitation will occur 1 hour prior to the Funeral Service. Burial occurs at a later date at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Mark was born August 11, 1964 in Clinton, Iowa the son of Joseph and Kay (Dolan) Vilmont.

He was a graduate of Clinton High School and would go on to pursue a career in woodworking. Mark was a very skilled woodworker for over 35 years.

Everyone who knew Mark will remember his great sense of humor and his contagious laughter. Mark enjoyed bicycling and loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing with friends and family. He also loved simply visiting with friends and maybe playing a game of cribbage or two. On weekends, Mark loved venturing to Codfish Hollow to display some of his projects and enjoy great music with friends. Everyone will remember his unique greetings, big hugs and firm handshakes. Mark will be genuinely missed by all who knew him.

Mark is survived by his mother Kay Vilmont of Clinton, IA; 1 sister – Elizabeth Vilmont of Des Moines, IA; 1 brother – Matt (Leona) Vilmont of Davenport, IA, 1 nephew – Zackary Vilmont of Erie, Il; 2 Aunts – Jan (Dan) Kness of Clinton, IA and Sandy Vilmont of Clinton, IA; 1 uncle – Chuck (Sue) Vilmont of Clinton, IA; with many cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father – Joseph and several aunts and uncles.
