John E. Nyquist, of Clinton, manager of the McCoy Directory company at Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday at 3:10 a.m. after a short illness.

Mr. Nyquist formerly operated a drug store in Bennett community, Cedar county, and was a member of Cedar Lodge No. 11 A.F. & A.M. of Tipton.

He had been in Cedar Rapids since May 29th. Mr. Nyquist was born in Sweden, Nov. 2, 1875, and besides his wife, who was with him in his last hours, he is survived by two children: Buford, a cadet at the West Point Military Academy, and Mrs. Helen Briggs of Clinton. He also leaves his mother, and a brother Oscar, both of Clinton; two sisters, Mrs. Ollie Nelson, of Clinton and Mrs. Gus Johnson, of Minneapolis.

The body was taken Wednesday to Clinton for services and burial.
