The Clinton Herald Tuesday November 8, 1904 p 5 Calvin H. Bingham, an old and respected citizen, died at his home, 2223 Parker street, Monday evening, November 7th, at the age of .. years, 9 months and 3 days. Mr. Bingham was born February 4, 1829, in Plattsburg, N.Y. While yet a young man he came west and located in California. When the civil war broke out, he enlisted in Company F, Second California cavalry. He served his country for about three years, and at the close of the war was honorably discharged. Returning east he located in Anamosa, where on October 21 1866, he was married to Miss Mary L. Joslin. To this union were born six children, Francis who died in infancy; Fred W., now living in Camanche; Ralph E., Frank E., Charles C. and Bertha, all living in this city. Mr. Bingham with his family came to Clinton ten years ago. The funeral will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the First Baptist church, under the auspices of the R.N. Baker post No. 88, G.A.R., and will be conducted by the Rev. J.F. Sanders. Interment will be made in Springdale cemetery.
