Miss Tallett, a competent young lady, has been engaged to take the position in D. Whitney's office, made vacant by the death of Miss Austin.

The funeral over the remains of the late Miss Laura Austin were conducted Tuesday, a large number of friends and acquaintances of the deceased being in attendance.
