HENRY HOLMES ANSWERS CALL
Princeton, Minn., Man, a Former Resident of Jones County, Passes Away Tuesday Afternoon.

Henry A. Holmes of Princeton, Minn., died at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, after an illness of several weeks, first of pneumonia, and later of inflammation of the brain, which latter complication proved fatal.

The deceased, whose death occurred in this city, was a brother of Mrs. Dr. Hullinger of Clinton. Three weeks ago he was brought to this city for treatment for malady.

Mr. Holmes was 57 years of age and was formerly a resident of Jones county, having made his home near Wyoming in that county for years. He was a stone mason and brick layer by trade.

The funeral will be held in Clinton Thursday afternoon.

FUNERAL OF HENRY HOLMES

It was Held This Afternoon From Hullinger Home, Interment Following in Camanche Cemetery.

The funeral of the late Henry Holmes, brother of Mrs. J. D. Hullinger of this city, was held at 3 o'clock this afternoon from the Hullinger home, 1101 Camanche avenue. Interment was made in Camanche cemetery.

The deceased, whose death was announced in The Herald yesterday, was born in Rock Grove, Ill., in 1851, and in the year 1859 removed with his parents to Maquoketa in Jackson county, Iowa. Ten years later the family went into Jones county, and settle near the town of Wyoming. Twenty years ago they again changed their residence, going to Cresco, Iowa, and in 1899 they removed to Princeton, Minn., which had since been the home of the deceased.

Surviving Mr. Holmes are two children, Robert aged 16 and Eva aged 10, his wife having passed away several years ago. There are also three sisters, Eva R. Holmes and Mrs. Hullinger of Clinton, and Mrs. L. A. Jacobus of Anamosa; and two brothers: R. A. Holmes of Rosewell, N. M., and Joseph Holmes of Oklahoma City.

At the funeral this afternoon may friends of the family paid a last tribute of respect to the memory of the deceased. Rev. T. M. Evans, D. D., pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal church, officiated.
