Iva Lou Miller age 87 of Clinton, passed away Monday May 1, 2017 at Mercy Living Center North, Clinton. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Friday May 5th at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Charlotte. Visitation will be held Thursday 3 7 PM at the church. The Pape Funeral Home, Clinton is assisting the family. Burial will be at St. Irenaeus Calvary Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Mark Mahmens, Jr., Peter Shupp, Eric and Brad Bodin, Jeremy Miller, and Troy Meyermann. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com
Lou was born on June 27, 1929 in Troy, OH, the daughter of Frank and Ora (Haley) Bittikofer. She married her high school sweetheart Maurice Moe Miller on May 31, 1947. She worked as the office manager for the former Jim Walter Window Components in Camanche. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Charlotte. She was a volunteer for the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary, Clinton United Way, River Boat Days in Clinton, and for the Paralyzed Veterans of America in Florida.
Lou is survived by her five children, Sandy (Jim) Bodin of Cedar Rapids, Sharie (Mike) Shupp of Ames, Shelly (Mark) Mahmens of Clinton, Sue Schneidermann of Cedar Rapids, and Scott (Monica Murphy) Miller of DeWitt; her daughter-in-law, Lori Miller of Clinton; 19 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents,her husband, Moe in 2016, her son, Skip Miller in 2012, three brothers, and two sisters.
Lou was thankful for her family, friends, and her excellent care givers at Mercy Living Center North, her home for the past 4 years. Her friendliness and giving spirit touched many lives. Since her stroke in 1976 her signature line was "I'm okie-dokie". She exercised her faith in daily prayer. Lou will be greatly missed.
