Doris L. Kyarsgaard, 89, of Clinton, Iowa passed away, unexpectedly, at Mercy Medical Center North Campus on Saturday, April 29, 2017. Honoring her final wishes, a graveside service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Doris was born November 1, 1927 in Maquoketa, Iowa the daughter of Clyde and Ruth (Gibson) Irwin. She was a 1945 graduate of Elwood High School. Doris and Ron Kyarsgaard were high school sweethearts and were united in marriage on November 14, 1945 in Clinton, Iowa - they were married for nearly 72 years until Rons passing just 29 days ago.
Doris was a lifelong member of the Jehovahs Witness. She was a housewife with her younger years focused on raising her three children and later in life she enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a very generous person and would not want anyone left out. Doris enjoyed decorating her home, furnishing it with lovely collectibles. One of her simple pleasures in life was taking daily afternoon car rides around town with her husband Ron. Ron and Doris loved each other very much with a mutual final wish that they be buried together and that will also be honored.
Doris is survived by two daughters Becky (James) Sayers of Lincoln, NE and Ronna (Robert) Riedesel of Clinton, IA; one son - Michael (Mindy) Kyarsgaard of Clinton; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding Doris in death were her parents, her husband Ron and one brother - Kenneth Irwin.
