Larry J. Aude, 71, of DeWitt, passed away, Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Westwing Place - DeWitt.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 am, Friday, April 28, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church - Clinton. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the service time at the church. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory is assisting the family with the arrangements. Larry John Aude was born September 8, 1945 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Kermit J. and Ida B. (Jacobson) Aude. He was a 1963 graduate of Clinton High School. He served in the United States Army from 1968 - 1970 and was in Vietnam from 1969-1970. He married Carolyn Sukut on June 5, 1971 in Clinton.
Larry received an Associate in Arts degree from Harford Community College in Bel Air, Maryland in 1978 and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Towson State University in Towson, Maryland in 1981. He worked for International Paper as a Data Processing Manager from 1967 - 1977, Black and Decker as an Information Service Manager from 1977 - 1984, Easco Hand Tool as the Director of Information Services from 1984 - 1989 and for Ertl Company as a Director of Information Services from 1989 - 1991. Larry loved his job working with computers until his health limited his ability.
He enjoyed traveling, fishing and time spent in Ocean City, Maryland. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Clinton.
Larry is survived by his wife Carolyn of DeWitt; son: Allen Aude of Clinton; sister: Linda (Evan) Carlson of Richmond, Kentucky; father-in-law: LeRoy Pfeifle of Camanche; Carol's siblings: Ed (Julie) Sukut of Clinton, Al Sukut of Arlington, Virginia, DeRaye (Steven) Hansen of Kirksville, Missouri, Deb Kougia of Mount Vernon, Iowa, Renee (Floyd) Steines of Clinton, Rhea (Mark) Herch of Clinton, Russ (Karla) Sukut of Ankeny, Iowa, Kim (Tom) Stuer of Camanche, and DeAnna (John) Dermody of Clive, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
Larry's family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Westwing Place and a special thank you to Dr. Steven Fowler.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be made to the Westwing Place, Zion Lutheran Church - Clinton, or your favorite charity.
