Michael D. Mohr, 56, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics on Wednesday, April 5, 2017. Honoring his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial service will take place on Saturday, April 8, at 4:00 p.m. at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). A visitation will occur two hours prior to the Memorial service from 2:00 p.m. until time of service at the Funeral Home. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Michael was born May 20, 1960 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Harold Mohr and Dixie (Eversoll) Feldpausch. He was a 1978 graduate of DeWitt High School. Michael was united in marriage to Sherry Heinitz on January 24, 1980 in Clinton, Iowa.
Michael retired from Collis after 27 years of service.
Michael loved sports, participating in football and baseball in high school, and continued to follow sports later in life, especially bowling and drag racing at Cordova. Michael loved his fur babies - his little dog Peppers and cat Sheba. Above all he loved his family very much and will be sadly missed.
Michael is survived by his mother Dixie of Clinton, his wife Sherry of Clinton; two sons - Mark Mohr and Nathan Mohr both of Clinton; six sisters; one brother; with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
Preceding Michael in death were his grandparents, his father and several uncles.
