HELEN NORMAN, 88, of Pleasant View Nursing Home, Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Pleasant View.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 20, 2017, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, with Mr. Ken Renkes officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Sunday, February 19, 2017 at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Fulton Township Cemetery in Fulton, IL.

Helen was born August 8, 1928 in Cook County, IL, to Nick and Emma (Vandyke) Sloot. She was a graduate of Morrison High School. On November 28, 1947 she married John H. Norman in Morrison. He died March 9, 2008. Helen farmed along with her husband, John, in the rural Garden Plain and Morrison areas. She was also employed by Jack Trent Aerial Spraying. She was a member of the Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison and belonged to the church's Phileathia and Ladies Aid Society. She also served as librarian for the youth library at the church. She was active in the Whiteside County Home Extension. Helen collected Snow Babies figurines and Fostoria Colony glassware. She also enjoyed crafts and needlework. A memorial has been established by the family.

Survivors include two daughters, Diane (Chuck L.) Bos of Geneseo, IL and Cheryl (Rob) Stearns of St. Petersburg, FL; one son, Robert (Margaret) Norman of Clinton, IA; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Beveroth of Morrison, IL and Dorothy Koster of Sterling, IL; one sister-in-law, Marguerite Clark of Fulton, IL.
