Betty C. Carlson, 89, of Maquoketa passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, Iowa.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Lahey Funeral Home in Maquoketa. A visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17 at Lahey Funeral Home in Maquoketa. Burial will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Betty C. Griffin was born on June 10, 1927 in Belle Plaine, Ia. to Kirk and Marjorie (Kent) Griffin. She married Victor Carlson on December 19, 1948 in the Methodist Parsonage, Maquoketa, Iowa, he passed away on September 10, 1999.
She was a longtime homemaker, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and making candy.
Those left to cherish her memories are her children; LuAnn (Tom) Elkins, Lori (Jim) Reuter, Don M. Carlson, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a sister Joan (Dude) Galloway of Lost Nation.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Victor, and brothers Tom and Jack.
