June J. Sullens, 90, of Clinton, went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Genesis Medical Center - East Campus, Davenport surrounded by her family.
Visitation will be Monday, January 23, 2017 from 4:30-6:00pm at the Gateway Baptist Church 722 South 16th Street - Clinton. Homegoing Services will follow the visitation at 6:00pm. A fellowship meal will follow the services. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family. June Janet Pringle was born on July 21, 1926 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of George an Adeline (Miles) Pringle. She was a graduate of Lyons High School. She married Lee Sullens in 1950 in Clinton.
June was a homemaker and also a bookkeeper for their storage business. She was a member of Gateway Baptist Church where she found a much closer walk with the Lord. She was most joyful when surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to travel, dance, and loved to be with all people. She never met a stranger. Her spark for life and positive outlook was contagious onto everyone in her presence. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. She will leave a legacy that will be cherished by all those who were blest to have known this amazing woman.
June is survived by her husband of 67 years: Lee of Clinton; four children: Perry (Deb Weed) Sullens of Clinton, Pat (Patty) Sullens of Camanche, Peggy (Larry) Tucker of Morrison, and Preston (Lynnel) Sullens of Miles; 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, two sisters including her twin sister: Jean Bisson of Clinton and Peg Lawrence of Moblie, Alabama, a sister-in-law: Mildred Sullens of El Reno, Oklahoma, many nieces and nephews and friends she loved with her whole heart. She was preceded in death by her parents, a beloved daughter: Polly, sister, Mary Jane Bisson, and her brother: George Pringle.
