The Clinton Age, Clinton, Iowa, February 4, 1876

Mr. D. W. Carothers, editor and proprietor of the Wheatland News, died at his residence in that town last Saturday after an illness of several weeks. Mr. Carothers started the new paper some two years ago, and has succeeded so well that a few months since he has enlarged the paper to eight columns and otherwise improved -. His burial occurred on Tuesday.
