Roy J. Struve age 85 of Port Byron, IL formerly of Clinton, passed away Tuesday Jan. 10, 2017 at his daughter's home in Port Byron, IL Cremation rites were accorded. A private family inurnment will be held at Clinton Lawn Cemetery in Clinton at a later date. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com

Roy was born on Feb. 17, 1932 in Clinton, the son of Roy A. and Marie (Madsen) Struve. He graduated from Lyons High School. He was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He married Darline Goenne on Feb. 17, 1956 in Clinton, IA; she died in 2010. He worked for E.I. DuPont in Clinton for over 50 years and later worked at RC Smith Transportation. He was a life-member of the former St. Stephens Lutheran Church in Clinton. He enjoyed doing yardwork.

Roy is survived by his two daughters, Stephenie (Brian Ruhl) Struve of Port Byron, IL and Barb Moore of Wausau, WI; two grandchildren, Michael and Emily Moore.
