Marilyn J. Walton age 77 of Clinton, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Mercy Living Center North. In following Marilyns wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will task place from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Pape Funeral Home. A memorial service will begin at 4:00 P.M. Burial will be at a later date in Clinton Lawn Cemetery.
Marilyn was born in Clinton on December 4, 1939, the daughter of William and Ethel (Johnson) Norris. She graduated from Clinton High School. Marilyn married John Walton on April 4, 1961 at St. Marys Church in Clinton. John preceded her in death. Marilyn had been employed at A.C. Nielsen Company and later with the Mississippi Belle II. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish and a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing bingo and going on bus trips with friends.
Marilyn is survived by two children; Mark (Rita) Walton of Clinton and Kim (Greg) Treadwell of Huntsville, AL; a granddaughter, Sullivan Treadwell; a step-grandson, Ryan Rebelsky; and her best friend of many years, Eleanor Jones of Clinton. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother, Bill Norris.
