Mary M. Droste, 97, of Clinton, died January 8, 2017, at the Alverno, Clinton. The funeral and visitation will be at Prince of Peace Catholic Church on Thursday, January 12, 2017. The visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. The Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be at St. Boniface Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be her great grandsons.

Mary was born on August 24, 1919, in Los Angeles, California, to Thomas and Mary Jane (Conway) Cassady. She married Leo C. Droste on January 5, 1946, at the old San Gabriel Mission, San Gabriel, CA. They moved to Iowa where they raised their family and farmed. Marys life was dedicated to her husband and her family.

Survivors include her children, Mary (Bill) Bloom of Waukee, IA, Bernadette (Kevin) Kavanaugh of Apple River, IL, daughter-in-law, Cheryl Droste of Camanche, William (Carol) Droste of Rosemount, MN, Therese (Jim) Juneau of Gretna, LA, Margo (Terry) Jett of Spokane, WA, Donald Droste of Clinton, Tricia (Mark) McNaghten of Spokane, WA, Judy (Barry) Buntemeyer of Goose Lake, IA, Kathleen (Ron) Brueher of Coeur d'Alene, ID, Edward Droste of Clinton, Sister Catherine Joseph (Paula) Droste, OP of Nashville, TN; 36 grandchildren and 53 great grandchildren.
