Anna Irene Teagarden, 93, of Wheatland, Iowa (formerly of Camanche) passed away peacefully at the Wheatland Manor on Sunday, January 8, 2017. A funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). A visitation will occur from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the Funeral Home on Wednesday. Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.

Anna was born in July 26, 1923 in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Dominick and Mary (Pillard) Medved. She was a 1941 graduate from Centerville High School. Following high school, she worked several years for the U.S. Coast Guard. Anna was united in marriage to Harold Teagarden on October 26, 1946 in Carmichaels, Pennsylvania.

Anna was a long-time and active member of the Church of the Visitation in Camanche, Iowa. She later attended the Lutheran Church of Atonement in Clinton. Anna and her husband were members of the Moose Club for many years.

Anna loved cooking, everyone loved her food. She loved reading books and enjoyed exercising, which she did all of her life. Anna and her husband loved traveling the country. Above all, Anna was Great Grandma to all of her kids - she had a talent for calming crying babies or calming troubling children - loving and caring for her family was her primary focus. She will be greatly missed.

Anna is survived by one daughter - Patricia (Gary) Haring of Camanche, IA; one son - Harold (Linda) Teagarden of Princeton, IA; nine grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; several great-greatgrandchildren; one sister - Julia Miller of Union Town, PA; two special relatives with whom she helped raise: her niece - Mary Ann and nephew - Jack; as well many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends she made throughout her life.

Preceding Anna in death were her parents and one sister.
