Injured Man Dies – Chris Nissen was fatally injured at 4 o’clock Tuesday afternoon while trimming trees on North Third Street, and died from the effects of his wounds at 1 o’clock this morning. With the assistance of Jens Rasmussen, the victim of the accident was attempting to pull a long limb, which had been partially severed to the ground. Giving way expectantly the limb struck Mr. Nissen on the head, crushing his skull, and rendering him unconscious. The wounded man was taken in a patrol car to his home, 404 North Third Street, and Dr. Smith and Dr. Milbourn were called, who found it necessary to remove a portion of his skull, and a clot of blood that had gathered on the brain. The operation was performed, but the man’s injuries were of such a severe nature that all medical assistance was of no avail and he died this morning. – Journal.
