Daniel Witt, 61, of Delmar passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016.
His funeral mass will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Delmar. Friends may call on Tuesday, December 27 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. with a vigil service at 4:00 at Lahey Funeral Home in Maquoketa.
Daniel John Witt was born on October 22, 1955 to Donald and Carmilla (Cavanagh) Witt. He married Melody Wells on May 31, 1986 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Delmar. He worked for Alcoa in Bettendorf for 35 years, retiring in 2009.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, a member of Union IBEW with Alcoa. He was a long time leader with the Delmar Hotshots 4H Club. He was a master gardener, avid Hawkeye's fan, coach for Steven's Barn little league in Delmar and served many years on the Clinton County Fair Board.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Melody, children; Aaron (Amy) Witt of Johnston, Donald Witt of Delmar, Danielle (Wesley) Allensworth of Coralville, three grandsons, Holden Witt, Henry Witt, Lucas Allensworth and one granddaughter Harper WItt, sisters, Patty (Butch) Grant of Dewitt, Nancy (Jim) Kettmann of Bellevue, and brother Jack Witt of Chicago, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother Tom.
