Donald Frederick Nissen, 89, of rural Maquoketa, Iowa, died peacefully, surrounded by his family, on December 13, 2016.

A memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 7 pm on Monday, December 26, at the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. The family would enjoy receiving online condolences as well, at www.CarsonAndSon.com. His funeral service will take place at The Maquoketa United Church of Christ at 10:30 am on Tuesday, December 27. Burial will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery at a later date.
