Wayne Malvern Paarmann, 88, of DeWitt, died Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Alverno, Clinton. Services will be held at 10:00AM, Thursday, October 27, 2016 at the Elvira Zion Lutheran Church, Elvira, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory and from 9Am until the service hour Thursday at Church. Wayne’s grandchildren will be pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Neal Henderson and Errol Peters. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery.
Wayne was born June 30, 1928 in rural DeWitt, Iowa, the son of Malvern and Aulda (Block) Paarmann. Wayne was an Elvira High School graduate. He married Anna Marshall on March 12, 1950 at Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt.
Wayne farmed his entire life in the DeWitt area; he had also worked as an electrician and a mechanic.
He was a member of Elvira Zion Lutheran Church. He was also a lifelong amateur Ham Radio operator and a member of the Clinton and Davenport Radio Clubs. He was also a private pilot and enjoyed flying.
Survivors include his wife, Anna; children, Nancy (Eric) Kutzli of Stanton, Iowa; Steven (Cindy) Paarmann of Davenport, Iowa and Thomas (Deb Determan) Paarmann of Camanche, Iowa; grandchildren, Matthew Kutzli, Daniel Kutzli, Vernon Wayne Paarmann, Derek Paarmann, Nicole Paarmann and Shawn Paarmann; great-grandchildren, Eric and Elisabeth Kutzli and Catalina Paarmann.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four daughters, one son, two brothers and his sister.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Elvira Zion Lutheran Church.
