Miss Anna Schroeder, 77, a Clinton resident for 50 years, died at the Lutheran Home for the Aged in Muscatine Sunday, November 14, 1954, at about 3 a.m. where she had been a patient for the past two years.
She was born October 16, 1877 in Germany, the daughter of Fred and Anna Wolfe Schroeder. Miss Schroeder came to the United States at the age of seven and made her home in Clarence. She later moved to Clinton and resided there about 50 years. Miss Schroeder had been an active member of the Zion Lutheran church of Clinton.
Surviving are one sister, Mrs. William (Emma) Martzahn of Clarence; two nephews, Harold and Marvin Martzahn of Clinton; and one niece, Mrs. Glenn E. (Dorothy) Weller of Clinton.
Miss Schroeder was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services were held at the Snell Funeral Home on Tuesday, Nov. 16th at 1 p.m. and at the Zion Lutheran Church in Clinton at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Martin S. Bredow officiated. Vocalist was Miss Shirley Benson and she was accompanied by Mrs. Wilbur Brankman at the church organ. Pallbearers were Glenn Weller, Dale Weller, Marvin Martzahn, William Martzhan, Robert Martzahn and Harold Martzahn.
Burial was made in the Springdale cemetery.
