A DAY’S DEATH

~
DR. CHARLES OSBORN, THE
CLINTON PHYSICIAN AT
MERCY HOSPITAL
~
HE WAS A PROMINENT MAN
~
Dr. Charles Osborn, coroner of Clinton County and a prominent physician of Clinton, died at Mercy Hospital yesterday morning. The deceased was brought to Dubuque last week suffering from extreme nervousness. It was hoped that the superior medical treatment at Mercy Hospital would quell the ravages of the malady, but the hope was a vain one. At the beside, at the time of the demise, was the patient’s wife who just arrived in time to see him breathe his last.

Dr. Osborn was 35 years of age, and highly respected in Clinton. He was a great believer in fraternal and secret organizations, having memberships in the Odd Fellows, Knights of Pythis, Modern Woodman’s and Woodsman of the World.

The disease which caused Dr. Osborn’s death and which baffled the skill of physicians was brought on by overwork. When first seized with the malady he was in his office and there his mind became clouded.

The body was shipped to Clinton this morning.
