Deborah "Deb" Thies, 62, of Clinton, Iowa passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 30, 2016. Honoring her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded with a celebration of life memorial service taking place at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 5, at the Eagles Club in Clinton, Iowa. Burial will take place at a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Deb was born May 13, 1954 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of John and Verna (Dyke) Vining. She was a graduate of Clinton High School. Deb was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Thies on June 30, 2001 in Clinton.
Deb was a homemaker and worked for Jewel Food Stores for 12 years. She was a member of local AMVETS Post 28, the Eagles Club and Eagles Retirement Activities Club (REAC) as well as, the American Legion in Bellevue and the Cancer Support Group at Zion Lutheran Church.

Deb loved socializing with her friends, she also enjoyed bowling , playing bingo and above all, she loved her children and grandchildren very much.
Deb is survived by her husband Bob Thies of Clinton, IA; two daughters - Chelly (Adam) Fink of Fort Irwin, CA, Jessica Jones of Coos Bay, OR; one son - Jason (Tracy) Jones of Clinton, IA; three grandchildren; her mother - Verna Vining of Clinton, IA; two brothers - John (Sheila) Vining of Le Claire, IA, Mark (Lynn) Vining of Iowa City, IA and her best friend Deb Wiersema of Fulton, Il.
Preceding Deb in death was her father and several aunts and uncles.
In lieu of flowers, memorials made can be directed to the wishes of the family.
