Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service for Brenda Shan Adamson-Rambo. She peacefully passed from this earth Tuesday morning, October 11, 2016, at Genesis Medical Center-West Davenport, Iowa, with her loving son, Dane, mother, Phyllis and Aunt Melinda at her side.

The service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 15, 2016, at Schultz Funeral Home, Grand Mound. Family and friends are encouraged to share a favorite story or memory of Brenda as part of the service. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Mound. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service and at a time of food and fellowship which will follow at the United Methodist Church, Grand Mound.

Pallbearers will be Dan Smoldt, Robert Smoldt, Jason Swanson, Steven Swanson, Julie Steffens and Patti Daniels. Honorary pallbearers will be Dane Rambo, Cooper Watkins and Matthew Rambo.

Memorials are suggested to DeWitt Community Hospital Foundation, Genesis-West, Clinton County Humane Society, Central Performing Arts Foundation or the charity of the donor’s choice.

Brenda Shan Adamson, beloved daughter of Edward and Phyllis (Meek) Adamson was born November 24, 1962, in Cedar Rapids. She was a graduate of Calamus High School. While attending Calamus, Brenda excelled in athletics, playing basketball, softball and running track. Brenda held numerous track records and went to State with the Calamus Comets Softball Team. She graduated one of the top in her class and was a member of the National Honor Society. Brenda was also active in theater, featured in various plays throughout high school, college and later community theater. She attended Texas Tech and the University of Iowa, where she received a Bachelor of Liberal Arts Degree. After college, Brenda worked in cosmetology, sales and the restaurant industry. She was united in marriage to Matthew Rambo and from this union a beloved son, Dane Matthew Rambo was born.

Brenda, being of the Christian faith was very spiritual in nature. She was kind hearted yet outspoken, as well as thoughtful giving and empathetic. Brenda was very artistic and enjoyed painting, writing, poetry, drawing and music, especially from the '90s. She loved cooking and watching the Food Network, shopping and spending time at the beach. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. Brenda loved spending time with her family, especially with her father, Ed and son, Dane. She loved all animals, but primarily cats. Horseback riding was also a passion as well.

Surviving are her son, Dane Rambo of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; her mother, Phyllis Adamson of DeWitt; aunts and uncles, Sherry (John) Swanson of Cedar Rapids, Dana Caldwell of Houston, Texas, Melinda (Jim) Smoldt of Reinbeck, Suzy (Ernie) Foxman of Alameda, California, David (Frances) Meek of Sebastian, Florida; cousins and her devoted and loyal dog, Gracie.

Preceding Brenda in death were her father, Ed; brother, Mike; grandparents, Ed and Louise Adamson and Bill and Cleo Meek and great-grandmother, Grace Meek. Condolences may be expressed and a photo tribute viewed at www.schultzfuneralhomes.com.

The family extends their most sincere gratitude for the wonderful loving care provided to Brenda by the doctors, nurses and staff at Genesis-West.
