Mr. William F. Lamp, 86, of Charlotte, Iowa, died Saturday evening, October 15, 2016, at Genesis Medical Center-East, Davenport.

William Francis Lamp was born May 10, 1930, in Clinton, to William H. and Rosa (Slapnicka) Lamp. He was a 1949 graduate of Charlotte High School. Bill was a 4-H leader early in his life until entering the United States Army. He served in the Motor Pool during the Korean Conflict. On September 29, 1967, he was united in marriage to Carolyn Thomas at the Methodist Church in Albany, Illinois. The couple farmed and raised their five children on the Lamp family farm at rural Charlotte.

He was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Charlotte. Bill served on the Board of Directors fifteen years and was president for two years at Eastern Iowa Light and Power and was a member of Farm Bureau. He also served on the Clinton County Extension Board. Bill was a lifelong farmer and was a collector of Allis-Chalmers tractors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved spending time with his family.

Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Carolyn; children, William T. Lamp of Charlotte, Brenda (Troy) McNay of Quincy, Illinois, Joanne (Mike) McConohy of DeWitt, Brent (Darla) Lamp of Clinton and Brian Lamp of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; grandchildren, William R. Lamp, Wyatt Lamp, Carrington Steen-Lamp, AJ McNay, Jordan McNay, Parker McNay, Thomas McConohy, Jenna McConohy, John McConohy, Liam McConohy, Caitlin Lamp, Bronson Lamp, Maddison Daniels and Tristen Daniels; a sister, June Hood of Clinton; a sister-in-law, Linda Lamp of DeWitt; brothers-in-law, Clifford Thomas of Erie, Illinois, Richard (Joyce) Thomas of Albany.

Preceding Bill in death were his parents, a brother, LeRoy Lamp and a brother-in-law, Gene Hood.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Charlotte from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2016. A Service of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 20, 2016, in the church. Burial and military rites will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mark Hood, Thomas McConohy, Jenna McConohy, AJ McNay, Caitlin Lamp and Jordan McNay. Honorary pallbearers will be Bronson Lamp, John McConohy, William Lamp, Parker McNay, Liam McConohy, Wyatt Lamp, Carrington Steen-Lamp, Maddison Daniels and Tristen Daniels.
