Thomas J. Byers, 72, of Clinton, passed away, Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Mercy Living Center – South, Clinton.

Memorial Services will be 10:30am, Monday, September 19, 2016 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery.

Thomas Joseph Byers was born on December 19, 1943 in Clinton, the son of Lavern and Darlene (Sullivan) Byers. He was a 1963 graduate of St. Mary’s High School. He married Connie Stauffer on May 29, 1965 they later divorced. He later married Patricia L. Warning on April 11, 1970 in Clinton.

Tom was employed a Clinton Corn until 1979 when he moved to Florida. He operated TJ’s Elite dry walling in Florida. He also worked at Home Depot in Florida and the Rockford, Il area.
Tom enjoyed NASCAR especially following his favorite driver Dale Earnhardt Jr., an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed fishing.

Tom is survived by his wife; Pat of Clinton; one daughter: Lisa (Chris) Eads of Clinton, one son: Anthony (Sherri) Byers of Clinton; nine grandchildren: Tyanna Tingley, Spenser Tingley, Megan Eads, Kennedy Byers, Kassidy Byers, Skyler Betts, Brandon Betts, Delaney Byers, and Alivia Byers; two great-grandchildren: Jace Banker and Alexis O’Connell; three sisters: Kathy Byers of Clinton, Margaret (Larry) Wisor of Springville, Iowa, and Mary Beth (Robert) Bettiga of Chandler, Arizona; two brothers: David (Laura) Byers of Woodstock, Illinois, and Paul Byers of Pensacola, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents.
