Laura Joan “Jo” Pittman, 88, of Clinton, died Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Mercy Living Center-North, Clinton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held from 9:30AM until the service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be held at a later date at Pine Grove Cemetery, Clinton.

Jo was born May 15, 1928 in Lena, Illinois, the daughter of Ray and Kathryn (Armagost) Reynolds. She married Robert F. Pittman on February 11, 1950 in Pearl City, Illinois; he died June 13, 2009.

She was a 1946 graduate of the Pearl City, Illinois High School and graduated from Northern Illinois University. She was employed as a teacher in the Clinton Community School District for 23 years, retiring in 1992.

She was a member of First Congregational Church where she was very active, she was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, P.E.O., Lyceum, Daughters of the Nile, the Clinton Public Library Board, Friends of the Clinton Library and was active with the Pregnancy Center. Jo enjoyed cross-stitch, traveling, playing golf, reading and spending time at their cottage.

Survivors include her sons, William (Loretta) Pittman of Vernon Hills, IL and Mike (Ann) Pittman of Clinton, IA; daughters, Patricia (Ronald) Hinton of Pendleton, IN and Jean (Jeff) Medinger of Clinton, IA, grandchildren, Dr. Matthew Pittman, Melissa Pittman, Thomas Pittman, Elizabeth Pittman, Niccole Hinton, Lauren Pittman, Madicyn Hinton and Jessica Medinger; sisters, Mary Kay Edler of Indianapolis, IN and Nancy Kemple of Loran, IL and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and her parents.
