Olen H. McVicker, 87, of Camanche, passed away, Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center – North Campus, Clinton.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 am, Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Immanuel Lutheran Church – Camanche. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery, Clinton with military honors being conducted by the Clinton AMVETS Post #28. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Davy Payson, Matt Birdsley, Nathan Mills, Jeremy Mills, Matt Shirley, and Nolan Hagge. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory.

Olen Harold McVicker was born on April 28, 1929 in Nortonville, Kansas, the son of Joel and Cora (Foster) McVicker. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1953-1955. He married Bernita (Frederick) Hagge on April 2, 1960; she died September 3, 2012.

Olen was a 50 plus union member of the Laborer’s International Union of North America Local #43. He was also a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church – Camanche.

Olen is survived by three daughters: Jacque (Alan) Payson of Hackett, Arkansas, Rhonda Moeller of Fulton, Vicky (Doug) Mills of Fulton, one son: Bill (Nancy) Hagge of Princeton, Ia; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and his sister: Violet (Ervin) Buck of Hermitage, Pennsylvania.

Olen was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and several brothers and sisters.
