Florence “Nikki” Murphy, 102, of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at the Alverno.

Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Friday, August 5, 2016 at Immanuel Lutheran Church – Camanche. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be James Haring, Larry Cornelius, Melvin Goffinet, Eugene Vining, and Stan Dierks. Visitation will be from 9:30am to the service time Friday at the church. The Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Florence was born on August 26, 1913 in Stanwood, Iowa, the daughter of Alfred and Hertha (Klahn) Meier. She married Kenneth Murphy on January 10, 1933 in Dixon, Illinois, he died November 8, 1994.

Florence was a 1931 graduate of Lyons High School. A homemaker, she was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Camanche, the Izaak Walton League, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Clinton County Historical Society and the Clinton Women’s Club.

Florence is survived by her daughter: Roxy Baker of Sun City, Arizona, two sons: Alan (Bonnie) Murphy of Camanche, and Ronald (Sheryl) Murphy of East Moline, Illinois; 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great & great-great-great grandchildren and a niece Kay Dierks of Clinton. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, and a brother: Sylvan Meier.

Memorials can be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church – Camanche.
