The Clinton Herald Monday June 9, 1986 p. 18 Peter B. McGinn, 89, of Route 1, died Saturday in Crestridge Nursing Home, Maquoketa. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Delmar, with the Rev. Francis Bass officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery with Military Rites accorded by DeWitt American Legion. Visitation will be from 3 to 10 p.m., Tuesday in Haylock, O'Hara, and Kedley Funeral Home with a Parish Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be Chuck Goodall, Dick Bennis, Jerry Bennis, Ray Powers, Clyde Shea and Vern Jebsen. Honarary pallbearers will be Al Tubbs, Stephen Kedley, Everett Rogers, Leo Mullen, Franklin Hunter and Harry Wiese. Mr. McGinn was born May 30, 1897, in Delmar, to John and Katherine Spain McGinn. He married Margaret (Peggy) Troy, April 18, 1953, in Elgin, Ill. He farmed in the Delmar area all his life. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, DeWitt, Knights of Columbus Council, DeWitt, American Legion Post, charter director of DeWitt First Central State Bank, a member of Iowa Cattlemen's Association and served in the U.S. Army in World War I under Army intelligence. Surviviors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Cary (Geralynn) Kerger of Clarendan Hill, Ill.; two sons, Peter J. of Delmar and John with the U.S. Navy; two grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Thelen Thortan of Chicago, and Sister Mary Dolorine of Ottumwa; and a brother, Daniel, of Orlando, Fla. He was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.
