The Clinton Herald Wednesday July 27, 1960 p. 10 Oscar J. Jensen, 85, 411 11th Ave. S., died at 11:50 a.m. Tuesday in his home after failing health the past year. The body is at the Snell-Smith funeral home where friends may begin calling Thursday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the funeralhome, with Rev. Martin S. Bredow, pastor of Zion Lutheran church, officiating. Rose Croix rites will be conducted in conjunction with the services. Burial will be in Springdale cemetery. Oscar Julius Jensen was born Jan. 14, 1875, in Clinton, the son of Arfst and Rosine Wogens Jensen, and was educated in the Clinton public schools. He was self-employed following retirement in 1940, after 40 years of sevice as shop foreman for the Chicago and Northwestern railroad company. From 1913 to 1920 he instructed vocational evening classes in Clinton high school where he taught advanced mathematics. He was onetime inspector of engines at the Baldwin Locomotive Works in Philadelphia, Pa., and Schenectady, N.Y., and in 1912-13 was employed as draftsman at the Locomotive Improvement Co., in New York. He was a member of Zion Lutheran church; Western Star lodge 100, and DeMolay Consistory. He never married. Surviving are three sisters, Rose, at home, Mrs. Mary Bahnson of Clinton, and Mrs. Alma Neumann of Waverly; a brother, at home and a niece and three nephews.
