Last Friday afternoon at 5:25 o'clock at her home 1203 1/2 West Second street, at Davenport, following a lingering illness, occurred the death of Mrs. Emma Louisa Schmuetz, aged 43 years.

Mrs. Schmuetz was born in Addison, Ill., Nov. 9, 1868. In July, 1889, she was united in marriage to William Schmuetz, who survives to mourn her death besides the following: One son, Victor; three daughters, Ella and Sylvia Schmuetz, at home; Mrs. Frank Smith of Wheatland, Ia.; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Pancratz, of Lowden, Ia.; one sister, Mrs. Alma Richmann; three brothers, Albert Pancratz, of Cedar Rapids; and Hugo and Otto Pancratz, of Lowden, Ia.

The remains were brought to Wheatland early Monday morning and funeral services were held at 10 o'clock. Rev. Gatermann officiated. Interment was made in the Low German cemetery near Wheatland. Many relatives and friends from Lowden attended the funeral.
