Margaret Rose Tholen, 83, of Clinton, passed away at the University of Iowa Hospital in the early morning hours of Thursday, May 5, 2016. Margaret was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a strong vibrant woman who embodied strength and bravery throughout her life. She showed those around her incredible kindness and generosity. Margaret, with her endearing sense of humor, will be deeply missed. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Claude Holle and Rose Walsh, her brothers, Ed, Frank, Richard, Gerald and Andrew, her two sisters, Mary and Patricia, and her son Daniel. Margaret is survived by her daughters Cathy and Debbie, her sister Joann, and her two brothers Norm and Jim. She has four surviving grandchildren, Amanda, Jacob, Tucker and Austin, and many wonderful nieces and nephews. A social remembrance will be held at 9:00am on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Clinton, Iowa. A mass will follow the remembrance at 10:00am.
