Shirlie Cronk, 83, of Clinton, Iowa passed into the arms of our Lord on Friday, May 27, 2016. Funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). A visitation will occur from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel. Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Shirlie was born June 9, 1932 to Lloyd and LaVonne (Erickson) Anderson in Mason City, Iowa. She married LeRoy Cronk on September 3, 1950 in the "Little Brown Church" in Nashua, Iowa.
She is survived by her six children: Vicki (Mike) White, Beth (Garrett) Chandler of Clinton, IA, Julie (Cathy Garland) Cronk of Sterling, IL, Toni (John) Kinney and Tom (Karen) Cronk of Marion, IA, and Mike (Melinda) Cronk of Warrenton, VA; with 17 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren; two sisters - Sharon Gabel and Sherry (Jim) West, one sister-in-law Gloria (Charles) Smith all of Clinton, IA; with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was employed by Kopps Market for many years as both a book-keeper and store manager. She was an avid bowler and was a member of the Clinton Women's Bowling Association as a board member and secretary of the 500 Bowling Club. Additionally, she was the secretary of her Wednesday night bowling league. She loved music and dancing and her four fur babies.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one granddaughter.
