Robert C. Wede, 80, of Fulton, went to be with his Lord, Friday, March 4, 2016 at his home, surrounded by his family.
Memorial Services will be 2:00pm, Monday, March 7, 2016 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 12:00pm to the service time at the funeral home.
Robert Charles Wede was born on August 26, 1935 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of George and Vernetta (Scheer) Wede. He was a 1954 graduate of Clinton High School and later graduated from Bradley University in 1959 with a degree in Business Administration. He served in the United States Air Force Reserves.
Bob married Janice Struve on December 19, 1959 in Clinton, Iowa. He served in the banking business for many years in the Goose Lake and Clinton area.
Bob was a member of a number of organizations including the 29 Club, “High 12”, Clinton Rotary and the Gyro Club. He was an enthusiastic Hawkeye, Cubs and Bears fan. Above all, he was a devoted family man.
Bob is survived by his wife: Janice of Fulton; two daughters: Marcia (Todd) Baldridge of Iowa City, Iowa, and Robin (Ryan) Mattke of Goose Lake, Iowa; six grandchildren: Nicholas, Emma, Owen, Alivia, Ava, and Gabrielle; his twin brother: Richard (Joan) Wede of Oak Brook, Illinois; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter: Elizabeth “Libbie” on April 22, 1998, and his brother-in-law: John Struve.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Camp Courageous or Ascension Lutheran Church in Goose Lake.
