Danny Joe Puckett Sr., 67, of Clinton, Iowa passed peacefully, surrounded by family at Eagle Point Nursing Home on Sunday, March 27, 2016. Danny desired to have his body donated to the University of Iowa Hospitals to further the research on Heart Disease and to help others with heart conditions. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2016 from 12pm to 4pm at Princeton Community Center, 428 River Drive, Princeton, IA. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Danny was born January 23, 1949 in Rock Island, IL to Darrell and Charlotte Claire (Minard) Puckett. Danny married Laura Ehrlers in 1984.
He enjoyed watching stock car races with his family, enjoyed Christmas Tree Harvesting and Sales, motorcycles and repairing cars and appliances. He attended school in Sherrard, IL and graduated Kirkwood Community College. He was the owner of Mid States sales & service in Maquoketa, IA and later Dan's QC Appliance in East Moline, IL.
Danny is survived by his father - Darrell Puckett of Princeton, IA; two sisters - Celia Puckett of Apache Junction, AZ, Luann Long of Davenport, IA; one brother - Darrell (Leah) Puckett of Calamus, IA; five sons, Dan (Lori) Puckett of Camanche, IA, Chad Puckett of Davenport, IA, Jamie Puckett of Bettendorf, IA, Jason (Lori) Puckett of Princeton, TX, Lucas (Anna) Puckett of East Moline, IL; two step-daughters - Stephanie (Matt) Dosland and Stacey (Bobby) Fuehring all of Lost Nation, IA. He loved his eleven grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and the many friendships he made throughout his life.
Preceding Danny in death were his mother, Charlotte Claire Puckett and his wife, Laura Ehrlers Puckett.
In lieu of flowers donations can be directed to the Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center or Genesis Hospice in his name.
