Fritz Hinrichsen, 70, of Calamus, died peacefully Friday morning, March 4, 2016 in his home.

Friedrich Hans Hinrichsen was born March 4, 1946, in Bredstedt, Germany, to Julius and Anna Marie (Wrede) Hinrichsen. He was educated in German schools and served in the German Army. Fritz was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He learned the trade of mechanic while living in Germany. Fritz immigrated to America in 1968 where he worked as a mechanic and over the road truck driver. Most recently Fritz was employed by Schneider National of Green Bay and also Emmerson Trucking of DeWitt. He was a former member of the Calamus Fire Department.

He enjoyed reading, traveling the countryside and tinkering in his garage. Fritz was a true gentleman and trustworthy friend, willing to help those in need.

Surviving are his mother, Anna Marie Hinrichsen of Drelsdorf, Germany; siblings, Jutta Hansen of DeWitt, Margret (Uwe) Kunst, his twin, Käthe (Willi) Deckmann, Hannes (Karin) Hinrichsen, Hans Hinrichsen, Christine (Siegfried) Sievertsen and Conny (Jürgen) Kreutzfeldt all of Germany; many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Fritz in death was his father.

There will be no visitation. A private family graveside service will be held Monday, March 7th at Rose Hill Cemetery, Calamus with burial to follow. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Calamus Fire Department or the CALCO.

Calamus Fire Department personnel will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
