Irene Theresa Mungen age 86 of Fulton, IL, passed away Monday Feb. 1, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center South, Clinton. Cremation rites have been accorded. A Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 PM Saturday Feb. 13th at Prince of Peace Parish, Clinton. Burial will be held at the Rock Island Arsenal Cemetery in Rock Island, IL at a later date. Irene was born on Feb. 10, 1929 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Vasily and Magdalena (Draczek) Wasilewski. She received her Master’s Degree from the DePaul University in Chicago. She married William Mungen in 1965 in Wheeling, IL. Irene worked as a Registered Nurse in Chicago, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C. She is a member of the Prince of Peace Parish and the Fulton Country Club. She was an avid golfer and had shot three holes-in-one.

Irene is survived by her husband, William Mungen of Fulton; her brother, Steven Wasilewski of Lindenhurst, IL, who just passed away Saturday Feb. 6, 2016; and her nieces and nephews, William Wasilewski, Casey Wasilewski, Margaret Spaulding, Charles Willes, Kathleen Fritz, and Paul Willes. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Lorraine Willes, and a brother, Adolph Wasilewski.
