Betty E. Shipley age 80 of Clinton, passed away Sunday Jan. 24, 2016 at Genesis Medical Center in DeWitt. Cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Friday Jan. 29th at Clinton Lawn Cemetery, Clinton. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.

Betty was born on May 7, 1935 in Clinton, the daughter of Ben and Margaret (Wooten) Bruggenwirth. She married Donald Shipley on April 18, 1959 in Downey, CA; he died in 1996. She had worked for Swift & Company and Collis Company. She enjoyed playing bingo, doing puzzles, going to the casino, and spending time with her family.

Betty is survived by her four children, Greg (Kelli) Shipley, Laurie Shipley, and Brian Shipley all of Clinton, and Michael Huffman of Camanche; 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; and a sister, Jean Nylin of Clinton. She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Rita and Roxanne, a son, Scott, and several brothers and sisters.
