Richard J. Connolly, 71, of Camanche, passed away, Sunday, September 20, 2015 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

Services will be 11:00 am, Thursday, September 24, 2015 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00-7:00pm at the funeral home. Following the services the body will be cremated.

Richard John Connolly was born on July 4, 1944 in LaMotte, Iowa, the son of John and Elverda (Goepfert) Connolly. He attended Andrew schools. He served in the Iowa National Guard.

Richard was a diesel mechanic for many years with Total Truck Services retiring in 2006.

Richard enjoyed hunting and fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

Richard is survived by his son: Matthew Connolly of Houston, Texas; two daughters: Sara Connolly of Clinton, and Lettie (Matt) Posey of Clinton; three grandchildren: Adriana & Natalia Connolly and Sophie Posey; two step-sons: Todd (Robin) Burkhart of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Curt (Jamie) Burkhart of Clinton; two step-grandchildren: Ian Burkhart and Brandon Burkhart; two sisters: Lois Shetler of Dubuque and Cathy Layton-Johnson of Clinton; and nieces and nephews: Kevin Shelter, Kim Baier, William Layton and Madison Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother: Wayne Connolly.

Memorials can be made to the Clarissa Cook Hospice House.
