Richard “Rick” J. Wiedner, 62, of Camanche, passed away, Sunday, September 20, 2015 at his home in Camanche.

A Celebration Life will be take place from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm, Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Military honors will be conducted by the Clinton AMVETS at the conclusion of the celebration at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting his obituary at www.snellzornig.com.

Richard James Wiedner was born February 7, 1953 in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Earl and Theresa (Waddick) Wiedner. He married Denice Eicher on July 21, 2000 in Dubuque.

Rick was a very proud veteran. He served three tours in Vietnam while in the United States Navy from 1970 to 1973. He entered into the Navy when he was 16 years old.

Rick worked John Deere in Davenport as a welder for 32 years, retiring in 2010.

He was a member of the Clinton AMVETS and the Camanche VFW for many years. Rick enjoyed landscaping and being a Cub Scout Leader. He was an avid photographer. What he will be remembered for most of all is that he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Rick is survived by his wife, Denice; two sons: Jeremiah (Tara) Wiedner of Clinton and Tim (Belinda) Wiedner of Camanche; one daughter: Sarah (Kevin) LaCourse of Winder, Georgia; two step-daughters: Robyn (Travis) Kapparos of Dubuque, Iowa and Rachel (Bryan) McClimon of Clinton; 9 grandchildren; one sister: Nancy Duplan of Silverthorne, Colorado; and one brother: Ronald Wiedner of California.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents.
