Susan L. Ray age 65 of Clinton, passed away Monday Nov. 2, 2015 at Mercy North Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday 4 – 7 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Aaron Ray, Adam Pope, Josh Pope, David Pope, Jeremy Ray, and David Spooner. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com

Susan was born on March 20, 1950 in Wakefield, NE, the daughter of Charles and Charlotte (Heath) Pope. She married Ellas Ray on Aug. 26, 1967 in Camanche. She worked at Collis Company in the powder coating department. She enjoyed playing Bingo, going for walks, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.

Susan is survived by her husband, Ellas Ray of Clinton; a daughter, Karrie (Robert) Kingdon of Thomson, IL; a son, Michael (Lisa) Ray of Altoona, IA; 5 grandchildren, Amber, Nicole, Aaron, Miranda, and Jessica; 2 great grandchildren, Damien and Jared; 3 brothers,
David (Carol) Pope of Camanche, James (Debra) Pope of Surprise, AZ, and George Pope of Dallas, Holtom City, TX; and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Charles, and a sister, Janice.
