The funeral for Robert J. Cousins, 79, rural DeWitt, was held on Monday, June 23 at McGinnis Funeral Home, DeWitt. Rev. Orrin Potter officiated. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery. Mr. Cousins died Friday, June 20 at DeWitt Community Hospital.
Pallbearers were Wesley, Alfred, Adolph Jr. and Edward Witt, Harry and Robert Feddersen.
Robert Cousins was born Jan. 10, 1901 in Elvira to Arthur and Flora Clement Cousins. On October 4, 1922, he married Matilda Witt. He was a farmer and a longtime cattle feeder. Mr. Cousins also served as a member of the school board from 1958-1961.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, Dean and Robert of DeWitt, eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Witt and Miss Caroline Cousins, both of DeWitt.
