Kenneth Ivan Anerson, 82, of Clinton, died Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at Eagle Point Nursing Home, Clinton.
Funeral services will be from 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2004, at the St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. Wayne Brinkmann officiating. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery, Clinton.
Serving as pallbearers will be Eric, Joe and Wade Soenksen, Taylor Swanson, Mark Binning, Rich Matzen, and Chris Bennett.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Swanson, Kelli Bennett, Whitney Soenksen and Kalyn Soenksen.
Visitation will be Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig-Dennis A. Lemke Funeral Homes and Crematory. Additional visitation will be Friday from 9:30 a.m. to the service time at the church.
Kenneth Ivan Anderson was born on April 29, 1922 in Charlotte, Iowa, the son of Ivan and Alice Beeby Anderson. He married Gertrude Brandt on June 23, 1957 in Clinton. She died on March 8, 1978. He later married Luella Naeve-Soenksen on October 14, 1978.
He was a 1940 graduate of Charlotte High School and was a graduate of Scovill Business College.
He was the purchasing agent at Allied Structural Steel for 23 years. He later was the warehouse supervisor at Clinton Corn for 16 years, retiring in 1979.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, member of Moose Lodge, Izaak Walton League. He enjoyed sports, played basketball, bowled, golfed and played baseball with the Industrial League, and was an avid Cubs fan. He also enjoyed shooting baskets with the grandchildren in later years.
He is survived by his wife, Luella of Clinton; one step-daughter, Cindy (Cal) Swanson of Clinton; three step-sons, Ron (Barbara) of Wilton, Iowa, James (Maureen) Soenksen of Atlanta, Georgia, and Thomas (Julia) Soenksen of Clinton; nine step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife.
The family requests that memorials be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or the National Parkinson Foundation.
